Feeling Blue Today.

Today has been a beautiful fall day. For some reason I am feeling down. I guess every day can't be smiles for this girl. I am happy a lot so feeling sad is well, sad. I feel achy and teary and pretty much out of energy. Sometimes I guess you have to ride out the emotional roller coaster. The trees are changing color and there is a crispness in the air. I am feeling better tonight. I painted a little today, and have some fun projects rolling around in my head. I will be putting a great 3 drawer dresser in the shop soon, wonderful dovetail detailing all wood. I sanded and repainted it of course. Send happy thoughts to me, Ciao

Feels like Fall....

I am enjoying the sun peeking in & out today as I work in the craft room. I love mixed media art. Mixed media art is fun, there are no rules. No rules means no mistakes! I will be taking these mixed media canvases to Ozarks the large one is titled Pink Witch, the smaller one is the raven. The raven has an old bottle attached to the canvas, inside is a part of the poem" The Raven" by Edgar Allen Poe. These canvases incorporate paper, rub on transfer, pigment ink, and Beeswax. Have a great week, stacey

Work It Girl!

Oh my gosh, Saturday I had the best day! I started work at Ozarks in Anchorage. Ozarks is the cutest shop, a little glam, some hip.....kinda like Donny and Marie..a little bit country and a little bit rock and roll. I made some tassels out of vintage salt shakers, so cute. I'll post pictures later. I work again today and will be taking more goodies to sell. I am working on a project inspired by my dad. Flour sack towel bibs, with vintage images of cowboys on them. Chow down with no worries, just use your cowboy bib! So fun! Ive gotta scoot...have a great day....

New Day

OH my Gosh! My dream job....today I start work at Ozarks, in Anchorage Alaska. I am so excited! They have a great website. I made some cute decorative tassels out of vintage salt shakers to sell. The salt shakers are all vintage from around the 1940's -1960's, I made the tassel skirt out of some great vintage findings from my great grandmothers sewing stash, she was a seamstress and hat maker. Thats her in my Blog header, sitting in Ryan Oklahoma back in the 1913 -1919's sometime around then. I used some new embellishments as well. I anticipate a fun day...cant wait!

Hi to all. I am a girl living in the North, waiting for summer to show up. I love to create and paint, garden and antique shop, any kind of shopping will do really. sometimes I wear a tiara at work. I am lucky to be surrounded by the most amazing friends and family members. Today is July 4th 2010. I really wanted to do something.....anything today, my husband drove us to a place called flat top mountain. We walked out on a viewing deck that overlooked Anchorage. Placed in the railing was a single red rose. I wonder who the rose was for? It felt like a sad story, maybe a lost love. It is a cold and rainy day. I wonder when summer will show up?
